A unique and applied foundation in the subject of behaviour and training. The course is home-study based, illustrated throughout, with accompanying DVD material. What you will learn:

  • Unit One: A practical history of dog training. Challenging the dominance myth - dogs are not wolves! The secrets of the domestic dog.
  • Unit Two: Canine behaviour and factors affecting learning. Recognising and understanding stress and dietary influences.
  • Unit Three: The psychology of how dogs learn. Human/canine interactions - avoiding common misinterpretations.
  • Unit Four: Aggression - cause, effect, management and resolution. Our role in prevention and treatment.
  • Unit Five: Behavioural problem solving techniques and case histories. Behaviour case on DVD.
  • Unit Six: Training techniques and advanced training problem solving. Providing exceptional class training.
  • Special Study: A research-based project of the student's choice

Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who wishes to further their own knowledge of canine behaviour and training, either to expand their skill base or as the start of a whole new career.
